About Fabric Collective
Having grown up on a cattle station in Booligal Riverina NSW , surrounded by beautiful fabrics, driving along the Hay Plains one of the flattest places on earth to get said beautiful fabrics! Using my imagination during these long vast travels, inspired by my mother's creativity with all of these come together a life long passion for creating.Colours & patterns are my greatest inspiration, with such a creatively talented mother, sewing and pretty floral fabric has been part of my early life as far as I can remember. Mum sewed clothes for herself, her children and had many orders from surrounding farming families who appreciated her skills and attention to detail.
After my mother suddenly passed away and I inherited her sewing machines, I realised I wished I’d paid more attention to her instructions and became aware that we need to make time for the things that bring you joy because we never know what the future holds.
I am inspired by the versatility of fabric and imagining different creations that can be made by mixing and matching designs and colours.
When I am surrounded by beautiful quality fabrics and projects I find myself in a place where I feel I belong. I find peace in creativity.
My vision is to inspire others, no matter your skill level, to use your imagination so if I can make you smile or ignite in you a spark of inspiration, then my job is done here!
I also want to encourage people to buy less mass produced and meaningless products and rather take the time to create more thoughtful perfectly imperfect homemade gifts.
As the saying goes, “Creativity is messy, and I’m very creative!” So, I hope you’ll join me in making a fun mess!
I am based in the beautiful regional town of Moama in NSW and post all over Australia xx
